Overview

Transparency International-Korea (henceforth, TI Korea), a non-governmental organization, was founded on August 24, 1999 through a coalition of civil organization with a purpose “To raise greater awareness in people, to eliminate the widespread corruption in the society, and to contribute in building a righteous society through anti-corruption activities.”

Our main activities include:

1.) Anti-corruption movements and activities

2.) Research and development of anti-corruption policies and legislations

3.) Introduction and implementation of Citizen’s Ombudsman

4.) International networking

Even today, TI Korea is known domestically as ‘Anti-Corruption Network in Korea’ (ACNK), but it is known internationally as Transparency International Korea Chapter. To eliminate the unnecessary confusion, we unified both names and came up with ‘Transparency International Korea’ during the 7th Annual Meeting.
